À l'Unilatérale grew out of a dream and a project. The dream is one I share with my sister Marie-Pier: for a long time, we've pictured a little café-boutique where good things are cooked with care. The project belongs to my daughter Maxim, a pharmacy student at Université de Montréal: to travel to Tanzania in winter 2027 for a humanitarian trip that will change her.
Rather than wait, we decided to start now, together. We cook in small batches, by hand, the products we truly love — and many of our recipes come from our mom, Colette.
The name? “À l'Unilatérale” is a cooking term for searing on one side only — all about precision and attention. That's exactly the spirit we put into every jar.
Every purchase brings us closer to the big departure. Thank you for being part of the adventure. — Caroline and Maxim
